Blencowe Resources 4.00p £11.81m (BRES.L)

The mineral exploration and development Company today announced the completion of an initial hydropower study for its Orom-Cross Graphite Project in Uganda. The study confirms the availability of abundant, low-cost, and renewable hydropower from the Ugandan national grid, providing a strategic advantage for the Project's future mining and processing operations. This marks a step towards Blencowe's commitment to sustainability and its ambition to deliver a net-zero graphite operation. The Company will continue discussions with UETCL and the Ugandan Government to finalise a Power Purchase Agreement and integrate renewable energy planning into the ongoing Definitive Feasibility Study. Additional studies will be conducted to assess potential power demand scenarios as Orom-Cross scales up production.

Corcel 0.18p £6.92m (CRCL.L)

The pan Angola-Brazil focused energy Company today announced that the operator of the IRAI field in Brazil, Petroborn Óleo e Gás S.A., has commenced workover operations in the EI-1 well, located onshore Brazil in the state of Bahia, as part of a two-well workover program where the Company holds an option to acquire an interest in the field.  The IRAI gas field is located in the Tucano Sul Basin, about 110km NW of Salvador, Brazil. IRAI is particularly attractive due to the shallow nature of the gas reservoirs, with producing gas zones ranging in depth from 220-825m across the field area. This, combined with the gas production rates seen in the field, with the EI-3 well peaking at >40,000m3/day (250 Barrel Of Oil Equivalent Per Day) of gas, provides the Company with an opportunity to materially increase production and revenue generation at low rates of expenditure.

First Tin 5.25p £22.14m (1SN.L)

The tin development Company with low capex projects in Germany and Australia announced that its 100% owned subsidiary, Taronga Mines Pty Ltd, has received results of additional crushing testwork for its Taronga Tin Project in Australia. The testwork has shown that it is possible to obtain up to 89.5% of the contained tin after coarse crushing, with an average of 87.1% across seven samples. These results are consistent with previous findings reported on 25th April 2024 and confirm that the project does not require the higher capital and operating cost of ore-sorting equipment to pre-concentrate the tin. Coarse gravity testwork is ongoing for these latest samples and will be reported when results are available.

The international molecular diagnostics Company with a broad portfolio of integrated technologies and services announced that it has received accreditation under the new EU requirements of the In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation for the Yourgene QSTR Base assay. Yourgene QSTR Base is a highly multiplexed, single tube assay containing 22 markers for rapid diagnosis of the common autosomal and sex chromosome aneuploidies during pregnancy. For those women identified as being at high risk of carrying a fetus with one of these conditions, chorionic villus sampling (10-12 weeks) or amniocentesis (14-18 weeks) is offered and QSTR Base would then be used by the laboratory. Autosomal markers are used to detect the three most common viable autosomal trisomies: trisomy 21 (Down's syndrome), trisomy 18 (Edwards' syndrome) and trisomy 13 (Patau's syndrome). The chosen markers are highly informative with results obtained in >99% of samples.
